** Women - Is it possible to live independently in this world?

IS IT POSSIBLE?

In this modernized world every thing has been changed, mainly the life style. At the same time here no one worrying about the past things and just living their life as per their desire, it is correct only nothing wrong in that. Each and every one is having full rights to live the life as per their interests and so on. But the thing is how far this society allows them to live like that. The answer is No. Leave about the men, let us discuss about Women. Is it possible for a women to live independently in this world, without the support of others? Even though if she tries to live, my question is will this society allow her to live peacefully. Here too the answer is No.

MALENA

Last week only I watched this movie. Here I am going to relate this movie to this post. In this movie they showed the kind of problems that a women will face if she lives independently in this world. This movie really attracted me a lot, especially the screen play. I felt like 12 years old boy while i watched this movie. If you people get free time try to watch this movie and then comment in this post.

Perhaps, the statement only applies mainly to women living in certain continents in the world. Sexual harassment is a normality these days but the condition is improving a lot than it would 10-15 years ago. More human and women rights groups are shedding light on this matter, which is great as it helps expose us to the danger.

I strongly believe that women can live independently in today's world.

Hi Shiva :-)
I saw that movie when I was teen...
It's a kind of "classical" movie.
According the content, I am not sure it was allowed in India at my time...
Frankly speaking, I don't know what critics said in India, BUT this movie has nothing to do with "a woman who lives independently in this world".
Anyway, your main question about women is still here...
The answer relies on the culture of the society you are talking about.
Obviously in India, it will be a tough job for a woman.
Same in Muslim countries.
... And still not easy in other societies...
For the above 2 examples, when I wrote "tough" I mean almost impossible.
But whatever it's accurate or not, still history provided positive example in India and Pakistan.
Still, even though I believe everything is possible now or in a near future, it is difficult as hell for normal, common women or housewife right now.
I never stayed enough in India, but what I think is that there, it will be quite difficult.
You don't change culture in one week...
Don't expect too much from political people in this subject.
Expect that one day, new, young men and women will stand up and change the stuff there.
See for example about the "cast" question...
I mean in India of course.
It's all about culture.
Think about the cast problem first...
Just a first reaction after I read your post. Not so much thinking...
But I do believe the problem is around the points I just mentioned.

Watch Sex and the City. They look independent enough. I think women who want to be independent end up single or marrying at quite a late age. Most of them focus on pursuing their careers.
