I've actually used ABF to move, and it's the absolute best thing since sliced bread for moving long distances. They drop off the 26 ft. (approx) semi trailer at your house, you load it, they pick it up, and ship it to wherever you choose. Tell them when you want to unload it and they drop it off at your new location!
I figured the cost of our cross-country move, and ABF UPACK was about $1000 cheaper than renting a U-haul truck. Plus, U-haul and other moving trucks aren't maintained well, and using UPACK eliminates the risk of breakdown (or having to try to drive that big truck all those miles, for that matter).
You pay for the amount of trailer space you use, so the more you can pack into a smaller space, the cheaper the price.
All our stuff was in perfect condition when we unloaded it, too. Cheap, fast, and professional, ABF is the absolute best for long distance moves!
