Google Wave

Hi my dear bloggers,

I just want to tell something about the new product from Google called Google Wave. A new tool for the communication and chatting between our friends and groups. It is really cool and very good in the means of using it like GUI and some noticeable functionalities. We can chat with one or more friends using a single chat, through group chat itself we can do private chat, sharing photos, docs etc,. just by means of drag and drop. And at the same time, we can also chat with the person in his blog using Google Wave.
One beautiful thing is here after no need for us to see the irritating message 'XXX is typing', because the chats are live so if the person types there, here in your chat window you will get the live typing of messages. Like this so many functionalities are there which makes Google Wave always special in the internet market.

So try it and have FUN......

Market with Facebook Pages - Part 3

Continuation of Part 2...

3. Frequently Revise Your Status Message By revising your status on a regular basis you are showing your friends and fans that you are a real, interesting person. Try to avoid sending multiple advertising type messages in a row. Include some interesting tid bits about yourself, videos, pictures, and of course links to your favorite websites. By mixing it up and keeping things on a more personal level you will build trust and draw more traffic than doing otherwise. Also, when updating your profile status messages, don't be afraid to let your fans know about your downfalls too. Doing so shows them that you are human and still falter, yet are strong enough to get right back up and keep on going.

4. Make Your Fan Page Unique Although there isn't a whole lot of flexibility when it comes to customizing your Fan Page right now, more and more applications are becoming available to use. Whatever you choose to do, try to make sure all photos and graphics are clear and precise, your content is keyword rich yet conversational, and most of all, friendly and welcoming.

Are Earthquakes On The Rise? - Part 2

Continuation of Part 1...

While sitting there, it also occurred to me that there have been a ton of earthquakes lately. Haiti was obviously a massive tremor that devastated the country. Most people think Chile was the next big one, but it was not. There was a magnitude 7.0 earthquake off the shore of Japan. Then we Chile rolls through with numbers that haven't been seen in a very long time at a staggering 8.8 on the Richter Scale. This, of course, has been followed by the earthquake in Turkey measuring “only” 5.5 that has killed at least 50 people at last count and the count has only started.

The rather obvious question facing us is whether earthquakes are on the rise? Well, earthquakes are the result of shifts in fault lines, particularly in subduction zones where one plate slides below another. Most scientist have argued that there has been a slight increase in the last 15 years, but the current spate of tremors is just a coincidence. Is this true? Well, it would seem to be. The major earthquakes that have occurred are not on the same fault lines. Only Chile and Japan are in the ring of fire. Haiti is its own area. Turkey is dramatic, but it has always been subject to significant tremors much like California has.

Is the world coming to an end or undergoing some major shift? Not likely. Then again, 2012 is only just around the corner!

The End.

Are Earthquakes On The Rise? - Part 1

We like to suggest that we know massive amounts of things about the planet we live on, but every once in a while Mother Nature reminds us who is in charge. The recent spate of earthquakes certainly is such an instance and raises the very real question of whether we are entering a time of increased seismic activity and, if so, what it means.

You and I have never met, but we may have shared a very surreal experience a few weeks back. I sat there on the weekend transfixed after the massive earthquake in Chile occurred. What were we both probably watching? Whether there was going to be a monstrous tsunami in Hawaii. It was so surreal that it was almost funny. I'll even admit I was disappointed at first when nothing much happen until I realized that a lot of people would have lost a lot of things.

Continuation of Part 3...

TWAT - They Want Another Try!

In todays climate it's vitally important to keep your website visitors both informed and entertained in order that they don't just hit the back button and leave your website for good. Google has recently implemented personal search whereby your own search keywords and phrases are stored in cookies on your computer so that Google can build up an idea of what interests you have and tailor search to give you results it thinks you might want to see. How is this going to help you get your website higher up on Google? Well, by keeping your visitors informed with regular updates and new features on your website, return visitors will be indexed and the longer visitors stay and browse through your website then incrementally your website is going to be viewed more favourably as a website worth showing up in the results that other folk might want to see. The idea then, is to keep them wanting more - offer online tools or regular giveaways, whatever you can to keep your visitors drooling with anticipation and coming back for more.

So there you have it in a handful of easy to remember acronyms - KISS, FECK, FOOL and TWAT. Now get out there and make yourselves useful.

Make your website appear on google - Part 3

Continuation of Part 2...

FOOL - Forage Other Online Links!

Yes, there's no escaping the inevitable fact that if you want your website to appear on Google somewhere near the top of the natural listings, then you are simply going to have to get down on your knees and beg for as many incoming suitable links as you can to help bolster up your websites popularity. Back links are the blood and veins of the internet if we're talking metaphorically and I suppose Google might be seen as it's central nervous system, occasionally having a massive epileptic fit when too much bad link juice is pumping around the system. To make sure your website doesn't end up clogged in the internets bowel like a stubborn stool make sure you've got a regular source of revitalising links coming in - perhaps aim to get your 5 a day to keep you regular, if we're still talking about human bodily functions - which we were in case anyone was getting a bit confused.

FECK - Fresh Exciting Content is King!

You've heard the mantra 'content is King' right? Well to a point. It's true that Google likes nothing more than some new content to tuck into to feed its ravenous appetite but just copying and pasting some random articles you've just googled and hoping your website readers are going to find it useful, just isn't going to cut the mustard. Fresh, exciting content is where its at, I mean this stream of consciousness quality content is just flowing and I don't think it can be stopped. Can it get much more exciting? If you can keep your website readers entertained and coming back for a daily fix of hardcore content then chances are, google is going to sit up and pay attention to what your doing. As long as you think that someone somewhere is going to find your content of use, then whats stopping you. Hey buddy you just made someones day!

Make your website appear on google - Part 1

"I've just put together a frankly beautiful website with some lovely moving intro graphics however when I try to search for my website, there's no sign of it on Google. How do I Get my website to appear on Google?" Well, how long have you got? We're guessing that you want some concise answers you can get your head around so let's begin...

KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid!

You may well have produced a visually stunning website treat with a knockout flash animated intro page but as far as Google and other search engines are concerned your website is nothing to write home about. The fact that most graphic image files go unnoticed by search engine indexing robots means that unless you include alt tags giving some text information as to the images content then all the effort will go unnoticed. As far as navigation is concerned, search engines like things relatively simple so keep all main page links from the homepage consistent and easy to use for your website visitors as well. Make sure all pages have clear titles and are as clutter free as possible including in the website code.

Ways to improve your website traffic - Part 2

Continuation of Part 1...

3. Viral Infection

Looking for an easy way to reach millions of potential customers? Well if you apply some original thought you might just get that to happen. There can't be many of us who haven't been forwarded a hilarious/obscene/violent email from friends that you've instinctively then forwarded on to a handful of your confidants who might appreciate the link. Well imagine if you were the bright spark who came up with the original idea, whether that be an amusing celebrity bit of tittle tattle, a mobile phone video of your cat dumping in the neighbours porch or some other easily spread example of idiocy at large, providing theres some kind of link back to your website then you could very well see your website traffic going through the roof.

4. Free Sex! (T&C's apply)

What's the one word guaranteed to get internet users instant attention? No, we weren't talking about SEX despite the attention grabbing headline - although that does of course rank pretty high - we are refering to the word FREE. Free downloads, free samples, free membership - you name it, as long as your website visitors are not paying for something then you can bet that slowly but surely the news will get round that there's something going begging down at your website and before you know it the cheapskates will be hot footing it over to join in the fun. Naturally once these skinflints have filled their pockets you can then forward them over to some of your other paid for services - not all of them will hang around but you should get a fair few who will kindly take you up on your offers (PS. Always remember to wear a condom and scrub well after every use)

5. Get out Your Wallet

So you've tried all the above and had less visitors per week than a down trodden B&B in Weston-Super-Mare. So what's to be done? Well when all else fails it's time to get out your wallet and head for our old muckers Google and make use of the best targeted website traffic money can buy - Adwords (we're not affiliated by Google by the way - though it doesn't hurt to grease the wheels now and again). You can set up an account and have an ad running within minutes. The vast majority of internet users are largely unaware that the list of websites on the right hand side and at the top of every Google search are paying each time someone inadvertantly clicks on them. The good thing about adwords is that you can turn it on and off depending on how busy or quiet you are and how much you are prepared to spend down to the penny. So the next time you get a call from someone saying they can guarantee getting your website to the top of Google within 24 hours for just a small fee of £99 you can tell them where to get off and do it yourself for free.

Ways to improve your website traffic - Part 1

Even if you have little understanding of basic website coding there are some very simple procedures you can implement that can see your website traffic increase very quickly. Here we present the Top 5 simple ways you can improve your website traffic and see your website coming up top on the search engines...

1. Articulate Yourself

The very fact that you are reading this article itself is testament to the ongoing power of articles as a form of cost effective promotion. If you have a unique skill, whether that be reciting the combined works of seventies prog rockers Van de Graaf Generator backwards to fighten the kids or creating paper mache miniature farmyard animals then by golly, tell people about it. By writing about your specialist subject matter and distributing your articles online you are effectively setting yourself up as a guru and your article content will find a home on countless websites that are hungry to fill up their pages and offer their readers something of interest to read. The payback of course for diverging your vested knowledge is an increasing array of backlinks pointing to your website which will serve to reinforce the impression that you are one heavyweight dude/mutha in your respective field of expertese. If you can submit 1 article a week and that article is distributed to just 20 websites (although popular articles are often redistributed thousands of times) you can be looking at an additional minimum 1000 high quality backlinks every year.

2. Freshen Up

Keeping up to date fresh content on your website used to be a real grind until some bright spark developed RSS feeds (Really Simple Syndication) this allowed website owners the chance to converge other websites useful content and feed it into your own pages thus giving your boring old website a constant source of fresh stuff. The only problem with this of course is that when every website begins to carry the same source of digested news, what is going to make visitors come back to your website? Well, if you think that writing your own web content is a chore why not blog about it or tweet about it instead? Yes, by using your twitter and facebook updates live streaming on to your website you are effectively providing your followers with up to date witty information and freshening up your website content while simultaneously skiving off work. Put that in your pipe and smoke it the man!

9. Use a broom instead of a garden hose when cleaning the yard
Hosing down the pavement means wasting gallons of water when the same effect can be achieved by sweeping up the leaves.

10. Purchase Energy Star appliance
These use up to 50% less energy than old or conventional appliances.

Live Eco Friendly - Part 2

Continuation of Part 1...

4. Stop using chemical pesticides
Look for organic alternatives, or use compost. These toxic chemicals are harmful not just to the environment, but to you and the people around you.

5. Help your water heater
Have insulation installed around your hot water heater, and insulate the pipes connected to it. These 'jackets' only cost between $10 and $20, but will help keep water warm longer.

6. Plant a tree
This not only beautifies the environment, but will help shield your home from strong winds and extreme heat.

7. Have your HVAC checked regularly
Heating and cooling your home takes a lot of energy, and if your systems aren't working right, you can waste a lot of energy. Have a professional check out your HVAC every two years; this will also serve as preventive maintenance.

8. Fix leaky faucets or pipes
Avoid unnecessary water wastage around the house.

Live Eco Friendly

Being a friend to the environment is everybody's business. Here are some simple ways to give back to Mother Nature and lessen our impact to our surroundings.

We should never tire of giving each other eco tips and teaching everyone around us how simple going green can be. If everyone had the same mindset, that is to lessen our impact to the environment, we can all look forward to living in a healthier planet.

Here are the top 10 eco tips to living an eco-friendly life (and we promise that all of these are simple to do):

1. Use less plastic
Stay away from those ultra-convenient sandwich and shopping bags, and bring your own cloth bag or reusable grocery bags when doing your groceries. Resist the urge to buy new plastic cups for your upcoming party. Bring out the old glasses or go for paper cups.

2. Use less paper
When printing documents, do a print preview to be sure that you're only printing what you need. Use both sides of each page, or write on clean sides. Go for recycled tissue paper, these require less virgin pulp thus saving more trees. Think about using recycled paper when wrapping gifts, or do away with paper wrappers altogether.

3. Start taking public transport to work
Give up two days in the week to do so. Do a car pool with co-employees who live near you. This will save fuel costs and help reduce CO2 emissions. Remember, fewer cars on the road means less harmful emissions.

Water Fuel car - Part 2

Continuation of Part 1...
Better fuel efficiency and cleaner fuel emissions are just two reasons the water fuel car is ideal in doing what is right for the environment. Other reasons are better gas mileage. Some of these cars get seventy five percent more mileage. That is a great boost financially as well.
When Stanley Meyer invented the water fuel car, the hydrogen and oxygen needed to be kept in separate, sealed, storage containers for safety, but now with fuel cell kits, the water may be stored in a tank, then pumped to the carburetor and electrically charged through a fuel cell box. This is exciting because very little expenditure is needed to run these new cars. Japan has jumped on the wagon as well as Australia. America seems to be lagging far behind. Shameful as that is, with so many now wanting to build their own cars, and hopefully with political support, the water car will soon be as normal as the gasoline filled one is now.
The End.
