It's none of the three options you have given. I too read the incident in paper and was really shocked, how can father okay, probably the whole family kill that gal so mercilessly.
It' really sad to hear such kinda instances.

@Selerines
"When this mindset will change???" Never forever.

Parents still treat us as children's where they think we aren't mature enough to choose right person, what to do sometimes their thinking becomes true in some cases and so the whole society thinks the same way.

Selerines said...

@Rachel : What to do sometimes their thinking becomes true in some cases. Good point yaar....... Ya it will never change... But i am hoping for the best!!!!!

I understand the weight of the tradition in India, and I respect it. But in France this kind of event is regarded as retrograde. I believe that the countries evolve at their rhythm. India, and others, must still evolve a little more in the field of the respect for human dignity. I do not want to be insulting Selerines, believe me.

well buddy u do focus on quite a few hot topics... its pretty good. .. well love sure ain't no crime, no sin, or else every person on earth hadn't been seekin it... its just that some people wants to control others life for that they need an issue and love and relationships become an easy target

Anonymous said...

Love is totally wrong. It's "a" wrong, it's a crime, it's a sin. It's superbad!! :D (Ok, it should have been "is it a" ?)

As our friend Slelerines said somewhere, true love is 0.1% :D (I also remember a maybe.)

Hey, is it alright if you are in love with multiple people though ? Like say a hundred odd people ? :P

Thank you very much for your comment.

Now, I am from Mexico. Here exist diversity of cultures, of beliefs and ways of thinking.

I think that the respect is that one can join the people, to the humanity. I don't practise any religion, but I have complete respect and comprehension to whom do it.
There is nothing bigger that the love, and only the love can join the persons. We all must have the freedom of choosing the one who will remain in our lives, because only we will live it.

Sometimes our parents wish that we take a life as theirs. But as individual beings, with different ideas, we have the right to live of the form that is better to us, always and when we do not involve third persons.

This is what I think, in agreement to my way of life, and how they have educated me.

I have had some problems with my family, because I have taken decisions that don't seem good to them, but ultimately, they only can support and respect me , or if they wish it, to judge me, but they don't have the right to stop myself.
I decide on my life, enjoy it and learn of my mistakes.

Well, it's all. It's so sad the story :(

Sorry for my english, i'm bad.

Love is sex. Sex is lust. Love=lust :-) Start without the love & lust. Anyway, after about 4 months the L&L will catch up with you & your partner. True feelings for each other in the early stages, I believe will make a couple live, relish, & endure life together happily & with joy.

The armyman dude is whacked, man. It does not seem correct to kill another human, let alone one's own daughter.

True love is never wrong, a sin or a crime. I have never understood honor killing. I know that being raised in the US, and female, that my views are very different from the people that these atrocities are happening to, but I just do not, can not, understand killing your own child because they love someone.

Hello, thanks for dropping by my blog. It's nice to see someone posting such a thoughtful blog for debating current issues. I'd love to exchange link with you.[I have your link on my blog now]

By the way, I couldn't imagine any parents who could do such things without remorse. Shooting your own daughter? You deserve to rot in hell for taking someone's life. But then, struck your daughter in the head with an axe? That's totally speechless. These people are monsters and they must be taught a lesson in humanity. Where I come from Malaysia, it's common to have a child disowned by the family when he/she chooses to convert into another religion; such as Muslim. Here, it is a MUST for a Chinese or Indian to convert in order for their marriage with a Muslim spouse to be deemed legitimate.

I believe in Love and I also believe there should be limits to it. Today i see the name of love is being tarnished by infatuation and physical attraction. Once these two things are over, the so called love dies down. But, killing his daughter was a shameful act from the armyman. He will definitely rot in hell as my friend said. Nobody has the right to the decision of life and death of others. We should love and that to unconditionally.

Hi, yes, I would like to link you to my blog, as I think it is a great thing that you are trying to build awareness about the issues you are encountering in your daily life.

I am from the U.S. and I married into another culture, so I can tell you that I have experienced some of the wrath of the families that do not like inter-cultural marriages and so I sympathize with these women. Although, no one ever tried to murder us for it...It is hard for a parent to see their son or daughter not live up to their expectations but it does not excuse them from hate crimes.

Thank-you for linking me and I hope you have a great day!!!

I don't come from a culture where parents tend to be so strict about who their children are courting. That's not saying that nothing like this has ever happened here, just that I've never heard of it. But, from my experience in my area at least, parents typically let kids date whoever they want.
Probably, the worst thing about this incident, for me, is that I usually think of family as the people who are supposed to support you even if they don't agree, who are supposed to overcome their own anger or disappointment if it will make you happy. I mean, my father is my biggest hero, though we argue all the time; I could never imagine him even yelling at me for dating someone of whom he didn't approve, much less physically hurting me for it.
But anyway, no, I don't think that Love is a crime, or a sin, or wrong in general. I believe that if you love someone, you have to show it. Don't expect Love from anyone else if you're not willing to give it first.
Sure, it can be frustrating, it can even hurt, but Love is the most beautiful thing a person could ever hope to have. I myself am currently experiencing Love issues, but I'm simply happy to even be able to have them. Haha. I really believe that Love is the most vital element to human life.
And that's my two cents.

By the way, yes, I added your link to my blog. =]

Living with someone outside of marriage is a sin, but in this context a better statement would be: Murder - is it wrong? And yes, it is. Love isn't the problem here, it's just people's stupid choices, but one should not be killed because of their ignorance.

Selerines said...

@Dcloud : Living with someone outside of marriage is a sin. Ya its really a nice point. The people should try to understand the feelings of others...

Love is something that works mysteriously.... maybe it is a sin when you step on another level of relationship that is forbidden by your community or religion. But it is still, so called L O V E!
