In our country, as usual our great p******s have started a new controversy.
I don't know on what basis these people are giving a new definition for our culture and relating this matter with our culture. According to me, Sex education is must and much needed for the students. It will help them to clear out the bad thinkings about sex. This society should do some thing better than this to bring them out of this bad mentality. It should make the students to think in a way that "Sex is a part of Life".
But the main thing is students should try to utilize it in correct way. And at the same time our p*****s should not spoil the good things like this. They should change their mentality first.

Thank god, at least you accepted that sex education is must in schools. When i saw the topic i thought you would say no it's not our culture, coz children will go in wrong way :D
Obviously, sex is a part of life and life is beyond sex.
While there is much chaos among the politicians and the public about Sex Education, My school(i mean the School i studied) is doing it for about a decade or so. Every year 11th and 12th class students will be taken for a full day seminar on Sex Education. I say out of my own experience it did really help me to get rid of all the misunderstandings and taboos about this buzz word. As for now, Sex Education is must.
@Rachel : I am not a kind of person who opposes every thing without proper reason... I know which i should oppose and i know which i should accept. I am having that much maturity yaar.

Ummm.. In a populous country like India, Yes sex education is must. But I don't know how far will it work out if implemented.

Anything that has the word 'sex' in it is taboo in India. So politicians and our backward society will never allow sex education to be widely taught.

I guess bold topics like sex education should not be taught as teenagers are impulsive and would be interested in sex even more. This is the collective duty of the teachers and parents to put religious idealogies in their children so they abstain from under-age + sex before marriage. I know some friends in UK who were given sex education. Now the case is that they just go buy condoms or pills for their mate for sex. Sex before marriage is a disease. It causes addiction to sex and problems in domestic issues. Sex Education can be given through religious studies so that the youth knows when to indulge in it and not HOW TO INDULGE IN IT !

This is the land of Kama sutra. People All over the world are learning it. But we are saying no to sex education. This is not going to teach how to DO IT. But how to lead a good life.

@ Shiva & Visu: You were asking about what did they teach in sex education, i can't say all that they told us, because this is a public blog. Since mine is a Boy's school they told us what is necessary for boy's alone.
They told us about what will happen if a person involves in sexual activities at an early age, that's when they are very young. And how it will affect their future life.
They also told as about the impact of Pornographic movies, on the mind of an youth. And how does it affect their married life.
And they also told us about infatuation and how young people misinterpret them s love.
And lot more about how to mingle decently with the opposite sex and the limit in that.
And lot more, since it was a full day seminar.
Please no sex education. people will do safer sex, good if they do it after marriage, really bad if they do in school days itself. :)

Here in the U.S. it isn't any better. Our young people are exposed to sex everywhere - TV, movies, video games, the computer - and no one censors any of this stuff. Heck, the most popular TV show is about four sluts living in a city. And they wonder why our young people are the way they are.
@Dcloud : Hmmm ya you are right.. But the real thing behind the idea of sex education is "Guiding and directing the teenage people in the correct way, by teaching them about the real meaning of Sex". Sex can be done by any one. That's not the matter. But they should understand first What is Sex?
Actually, what they need to learn is the Word of God which will educate better than any human being on the subject.

You are spot on...if u teach the word of god, u dont need to cover sex education as a different subject because word of god is the book about life. It teaches all.
I would like to add here something. We need to love God and fear him too. WE HAVE TO FEAR FROM HIS WRATH, dont you all remember what he did with the people of LUT ? the evidence is THE DEAD SEA for it. Love and Fear him !
