Steps to register a firm:
An office of registrar of firms is present in every state of India. The registration of firm can be effected at any time by sending by mail or delivering to the registrar of the area in which any place of business of the firm is situated or proposed to be situated, an application in the prescribed form and accompanied by the prescribed fee.
The application must contain following information:
- Name of the firm to be registered.
- The place or principal place of business of the firm.
- The names of any other places where the firm carries on the business.
- The date when each partner joined the firm.
- The name in full and permanent address of the partners.
- The duration of business of the firm.
- The statement should be signed by all the partners or by their agents authorized on their behalf.
